Parent Support

If you are a parent of a school-age child and

• struggle with parenting
• want help with dealing with your children's behaviours
• would like to understand your children better
• would like to develop a better relationship with your children
• need help with practical matters that make it harder to parent well

(e.g., managing money, your physical environment, obtaining help for which you may be eligible, feeling isolated, etc.) our Family Service Worker can help. She will meet with you to discuss your situation, decide with you what your goals are, and develop a time-specifi c plan to meet those goals. She can meet with you as frequently as necessary to work toward the goals.

She will

• help you understand your parenting style and how it fits with your child
• coach you in parenting skills
• help you decide if your family could benefi t from other kinds of help and assist you in getting them in place
• be there for you in times of crisis
• organize or accompany you to meetings with other professionals
