Recreation Services

Point in Time uses money from various sources to support the right of every child to play.

  • Peer Pursuits: Families are helped financially to make it possible for their children to participate in a recreation of their choice for a season. Applications are available in August. The family, the recreation provider and Peer Pursuits negotiate a plan to share the cost.
  • Climbing Club: Point in Time staff, assisted by volunteers, offer their expertise to support families and children, and later in the evening youth, in using the climbing wall at Camp Medeba. It is advertised in the paper and on the website.
  • Summer Adventure Day Camp: Week-long day camps for children ages 6 to 11 are offered at several sites in the county over the summer holidays. The staff is well-qualified and offer a varied schedule that is both fun and educational. The cost is very reasonable. Applications are available in June.
  • After School Recreation Program: Supervised active play and nutritional food is offered to school-age children for two hours after school once a week during the school year. There is no cost. The current sites are Minden, Wilberforce and Cardiff. Details are available from us in the fall.
