Call our offices or check our website for upcoming dates and times for these programs:
- The Incredible Years Parent Program, is a 10-12 week course taught by the Pre-school Family Support Worker and a Resource Consultant, when enough people in one part of the county are interested. Help with travel and child care may be arranged to make it easier for parents to attend.
- Highlands Parent-Child Mother Goose Program is offered by the Infant Development Consultant with staff from Point in Time and Ontario Early Years Centre (OEYC) four times a year in various locations in the county. Parents and their infants meet together to learn rhymes and songs. An assistant helps with the babies so that the adults are free to relax and enjoy the learning. The babies can join in or choose to play, feed, or have a nap.
- Lullabies to Literacy teaches parents to use songs, rhymes and stories to implant a love of reading in their toddlers. It is delivered by the Pre-school Family Support Worker alone or with OEYC staff.
- Raising Your Spirited Child offers a way for parents to see the behaviour of their high energy school-age children in a different way. This opens up new ways for parents to manage them. It consists of three workshops.
- Kids on the Block brings puppet presentations twice a year to elementary school-aged children on a variety of health, safety and social topics. Shows are also available for summer camps and community events. Youth or adults may train to be volunteer puppeteers.
